WHY LICENSED IMMIGRATION ADVISER

It is not mandatory to appoint an Adviser and you may, if confident, make your own visa application. However, should you wish to engage an Adviser for New Zealand immigration and visa service, you must ensure that your adviser is licensed, as:

  1. Licensing is mandatory for providing New Zealand immigration advice;
  2. All New Zealand Immigration Advisers whether based in New Zealand or Outside New Zealand must be licensed;
  3. It is an offence to provide New Zealand immigration service unless licensed or exempted;
  4. Immigration New Zealand will return your visa application if lodged by an unlicensed immigration adviser;
  5. Licensed immigration advisers and registered migration agents are governed by the respective Code of Conduct which among other things provide for
    1. Client Protection;
    2. Dispute Resolution; and
    3. Remedies in the event things go wrong.
